Cell Games Vegeta = MSSJ?

 Guys, sorry for the necrobump, but this subject has been fascinating to me as of late. I read the relevant chapters from the manga yesterday and here are my observations:

- SSj aura is always consistent - it's close to the body and flame-like
- ASSj aura is also always consistent, it's wild and flaring
- USSj aura, when shown, is spiky and resembling electricity
- MSSj aura is also quite distinct - when shown it mostly resembles the USSj aura, suggesting the same level of power accessed

And in regards to this: Vegeta and Trunks at the Cell Games clearly possess a MSSj aura, there is even one panel where the two of them are together with Goku, all auras ignited, and their auras are identical, no difference at all. Also, Vegeta and Trunks never go ASSj in the manga again - only the anime depicts them as doing so, which creates a lot of confusion. Vegeta and Trunks are already MSSj, there's no more going ASSj for them, as they can now power up more efficiently. The anime actually shows Trunks with MSSj aesthetics, but only back in the future when he's handling the Androids of his own time.

So, this is how I think it goes:

FP Cell >>>> MSSj Gohan > Powered-up Cell (as he fought Goku) >/= MSSj Goku at full power >>> Cell Junior = MSSj Vegeta = MSSj Trunks >> USSj Trunks post 1st RoSaT >> MSSj Goku Relaxed = Perfect Cell Relaxed >> ASSj Vegeta

I'm not so sure about whether relaxed MSSj Goku is actually at 50%, that actually seemed like more than the level he usually stays at. Then 50% MSSj Goku being > USSj Trunks would make sense. But post 2nd RoSaT Vegeta and Trunks both powered up quite well, being stronger in SSj than they would be previously in USSj, but still falling short of Goku and Gohan.

 I think he's a FPSSJ. He's just not as strong as Goku and Gohan because he didn't spar with Trunks.

I second this, pretty much. Vegeta's no fool. He instantly recognized what Goku and Gohan had done when they emerged from the Room of Spirit and Time, and then just a few minutes later he got to feel the power Goku had attained (or half of it, anyway) by doing so. I'd be more surprised if Vegeta DIDN'T try to work towards the same thing.

However, I think he'd have a lot of "backtracking" to do, in the sense that he'd become reliant on Grade 2 and would have to spend a lot more time fixing the stress it put on him and switching to relying on regular Super Saiyan... if that makes any sense. Factor in the aforementioned lack of a sparring partner, plus the fact that Vegeta had less than a full year left to use the room, and we end up with Vegeta managing to master Super Saiyan but not having enough time to train with it.

Hence he gains a lot of power but is still lagging behind Goku. Heck, if he had more time to train and had gone back in together with Trunks, he may well have shot past Goku and rivaled Gohan.

 I believe they might be MSSJ because after Vegeta saw both Goku and Gohan, he must have tried this kind if training himshelf, or I think so at least :)
